Where and how do I get service for my reel? Reels with a serial number below 7000 must be sent to our Tulsa, OK facility for servicing. All other reels may be sent to one of our Authorized Service Centers. Download a Product Return Form here.
What is the Warranty on my reel? Reels with a serial number below 7000 have a lifetime service warranty providing they are sent to our Tulsa facility once a year for annual maintenance. All other reels are warranted for 1 year from the original date of purchase (see more info here).
Where and how can I order parts? You may order replacement parts for reels and pliers directly from Van Staal with a Visa or MasterCard by calling (toll-free) 800-718-7335.
How long is the turnaraound time for service? November - January: 3 to 4 weeks
January - April: 6 - 8 weeks
May - October: 2 weeks
Can I purchase reels directly through the Factory? We do not sell reels directly through the factory. For a complete listing of Van Staal Dealers, click here.
Can my bail-less (VS) model be converted to a bailed (VSB) model? The VS and VSB reels are completely different builds, and as such cannot be converted from one to the other.
How do I change the retrieve side on my C-Vex fly reel? It's very easy, click HERE to watch a video demonstration.
What is recommended for maintenance of my reel after every use? Rinse your reel completely with clean, fresh water. Remove spool and spray with WD-40. When storing, loosen the drag. It also helps to periodically turn the handle to stir the lubrication.
