The VR Reels are the latest evolution of Van Staal spinning reels. Fully sealed, with a lightweight 6061 aluminum construction, and a powerful waterproof drag system. They come from the factory with a bail and a bailless conversion kit so you can fish them however you like.

This reel has met my expectations. I’ve fished it from the surf, under water, and from a boat. Love how light it is. No issues to date (1.5 seasons roughly once a week use June - October). Just rinse and go. My ONLY complaint so far and has been since day 1. The reel foot, where it T’s into the reel seat on rod needs to be more rounded. It’s is uncomfortable on my knuckles. Compare it to your VSX or Penn Slammer or reel of such caliber and you’ll feel exactly what I mean.
